@yoananda French nuclear power is a fabulous success. The 58 French nuclear reactors cost little to build. They were cost-competitive with coal. Nuclear power now supplies France with zero-Carbon electricity. France has both more plentiful and cheaper electricity than UK. France has so much electricity that it exports to nearly all its neighboring countries. Despite having more energy available to them, the French per capita CO2 emissions, at 5 tonne per person, are much lower than UK emissions.

I admit the AREVA EPR is not the best value nuclear reactor, but the fault for that lies with green anti-nukes. The EPR designers did their best to satisfy near impossible green demands (Germany had a Green Party enviro/energy minister when the EPR was designed). Consequently the EPR is totally over-designed, too hard to build, and expensive to make. It’s a fabulous green success story !
